Conscience
Descripción del Curso
Helping the student see morality as a response to the universal call to holiness and as a response to the invitation of eternal life with God, this introductory course relies heavily on the Scriptures, the Catechism of the Catholic Church, and Thomas Schindler's series of articles on morality to explore the theology and the process of moral decision-making.

Objetivos Generales del Curso
- Name and identify the steps used to make a moral decision.
- Understand the role of the Church, natural law and Scripture in making moral decisions.
- Describe and identify the role of the super-ego and the ideal ego in forming a conscience.
- Come to a deeper understanding of the nature of sin.
- Name and define social sin.
- Identify three interests people use to approach moral decision-making.

- Identify the nature of morality.
- Identify the three principles operating in this course.
- Distinguish the place of "feelings" of right and wrong.
- Semana 2: How Scripture, Natural Law and Church Teachings Affect Morality
- Understand the role of Scripture in morality.
- Name some of the natural laws and understand from where natural law comes.
- Reflect on the positive and negative role of Church teaching in morality.
- Semana 3: What is a Conscience and How Do I Get One?
- Distinguish between super-ego and conscience.
- Identify the process of making a moral decision.
- Identify the goal of morality
- Understand how a conscience is formed.
- Semana 4: Sin and Social Sin
- Define "sin."
- Reflect on the reality and nature of social sin.
- Semana 5: Conclusion
- Name and identify the three "interests" which direct the study of morality.
- Discern which interest best fits one’s vision of what it means to live a moral life.
