2007 Recap

The UD men entered the 2006/2007 season with many uncertainties.  With only 9 oarsmen and a difficult financial situation, the season looked to be a tough one.  However, the team put it’s difficulties behind it and compiled a great season that ended in the varsity 8 being seeded at the Dad Vail Regatta for the first time in team history.  Throughout the season UD defeated many of it’s traditional rivals for the first time in several years.

Things look to get even better in 2007/2008.  Eight out of 10 members of last years varsity return.  In addition almost all of last years talented novice squad will join the varsity ranks with many being poised to earn seats in the first 8.  Further bolstering the team will be 4 recruited freshmen from strong high school and club programs.

Join Our Team!

We are currently seeking incoming freshmen or upperclassmen to build next years novice team around.  No experience is needed, and you will compete against others who are new to the sport. Interested athletes should enjoy competition, hard work and an enthusiastic team atmosphere.   In the fall you will attend 2 races and in the spring about 5 races (see schedule page).  Practice schedules are flexible and there are no morning practices

There are many benefits to joining the team.  You will meet lifelong friends, be exposed to many social situations, stay in extremely good shape and be a part of one of the most successful teams on campus.  If you would like more information contact Coach Schena.
