Peace in our world begins with peace in the home. Artemis House, a Dayton organization dedicated to finding alternatives to domestic violence, helps further this goal by providing support to victims of domestic violence and their children.
This year, TSS is joining Artemis House in their efforts by supporting the Holiday Bags initiative. This program helps parents who are financially unable to provide Christmas gifts for their children, often as a result of efforts to secure a safer living arrangement, by matching families with volunteer gift donors.
TSS was assigned a family consisting of a mother and her 14-year-old son. While the gifts TSS service coordinator, Jim Mielcarek, returns to Artemis House this week will surely be appreciated by the family, TSS staffers are thankful for the opportunity to make a small difference this holiday season. We hope you will join us in keeping this family -- and all families dealing with domestic violence -- in your prayers for peace this Christmas.
