Additional Opportunities

There will be many other opportunities to be involved in New Student Orientation 2008, beyond serving on the NSO Student Executive Leadership Team. The executives on the NSO Student Executive Leadership Team will form planning teams to help them get the job done. If you have an interest in event planning, marketing, academic or spiritual integration, or any of the areas covered by the executive positions, we encourage you to think about working on one of these teams.

In addition, we plan to divide new students into groups of about forty. Each group will be served by five members of the UD community, including a faculty and staff person, and one student from each of these three groups:

  • Blue Crew — The Blue Crew will help with social events, late night programs, and community development — in general, helping students feel welcome and excited to be at UD.
  • Peer Academic Leaders — These leaders will facilitate discussion among first-years on topics that are important to new students, helping them to engage thoughtfully with the academic experience at UD from day one.
  • Resident Advisors — Since the groups of forty new students will be organized by floor, resident advisors will also play an important role in NSO 2008.
