The Purpose of the Student Leadership Council (SLC) is to Educate, Promote, and Represent the interest of officially recognized student organizations at the University of Dayton.

Roles & Responsibilities Include:

  • Acting as a peer liaison between student organization leaders and the Office of Student Involvement & Leadership
  • Collaborate with student organizations on-campus for community and program development
  • Develop guidelines for student organization funding
  • Hear, review, and approve all student organization funding requests
  • Help to coordinate "Up the Organizations Day" and "Mid-Year Up the Organizations Day"
  • Plan and Implement leadership opportunities for current and aspiring student leaders
  • Coordinate all components of the Annual Student Leadership Awards Banquet
  • Endorse the recognition of new student organizations
  • Provide support to administrative and faculty advisors

The SLC is comprised of student organization representatives from all area of campus. They are advised by a staff member from the Office of Student Involvement & Leadership. SLC members are nominated through an application and interview process.
