Interested in joining Sigma Phi Epsilon?

There are many advantages to joining SigEp at the University of Dayton:

Academics
Academic excellence is one of the pillars which Sigma Phi Epsilon stands upon, not just at the University of Dayton, but at any SigEp chapter througout the country. The main goal of your college experience is the pursuit of a diploma, and SigEp is here to help you achieve your goal. The Ohio Rho chapter of Sigma Phi Epsilon is the only social fraternity on campus to have an overall chapter GPA above 3.0 cummulative. This ranks our chapter #1 among all social fraternities in academics. Our chapter is composed of men who are majoring in all different majors, and can provide you with the support system to succeed.

Athletics
Sigma Phi Epsilon was founded upon the ideals of a sound mind and sound body. Our chapter fields teams in nearly all intramural sports, including but not limited to: flag football, softball, basketball, soccer, volleyball, and floor hockey. Most recently, our chapter has won the flag football championship (fall 2006) and reached the basketball championship (winter 2006). Brothers personal fitness is also tracked through fitness tests, and individual fitness plans are developed to help them achieve their health goals.

Social
Another major part of college and the Greek System is social life. SigEp offers its members a busy social calendar, filled with social and philanthropy events with sororities. Along with these events, SigEp also holds formal and semiformal dances, date parties, and themed parties.

Leadership
Within the the fraternity, many members take on leadership positions, whether it be an officer, committee head, or just a participant. These positions help develop skills such as learning how to run meetings, speak in public, motivate others, and other skills that help mold people into leaders. Since it takes more than a degree to get a job, these leadership skills can help you get a job. SigEps hold and have held many different positions in organizations on campus, including President of Order of Omega, President of IFC, Vice President of IFC, President's Emissaries, President of Professional Fraternities/Organizations, and other numerous committee positions.

Brotherhood
Brotherhood is what truly sets fraternities apart from other organizations. As a brother, the friendships formed in SigEp are unlike those found in other organizations. SigEp holds countless brotherhood events ranging from cookouts, wing nights, pick-up basketball games, brotherhood football games, attending UD basketball games, cornhole, bowling, or simply gathering at the fraternity house and watching football. Through activities such as these, lifelong friendships are developed with other brothers. The brothers of SigEp hold the cardinal principle of Brotherly Love sacred. Our brothers are there for each other in times of trouble and celebrate together in times of joy.

Community Service
Our chapter is committed to helping and improving the community in which we live. Whether it be hosting our own annual philanthropic events, participating in others, or volunteering at a nonprofit, SigEp strives to help our surrounding community. SigEp’s national philanthropy is YouthAids.
