1.              MEMBER RECRUITMENT/RETENTION - raise interest and keep it

                                  Goal:  Increase interest in becoming part of the organization

                                  Objective:  Give presentations about the society at MEP meetings, post recent events on a bulletin board in the Engineering Building and the DSP office, and make and maintain an up to date website.  Have a booth at the up-the-org day.

                

 

 

 

 

2.              ORIENTATION/AWARENESS/EDUCATION - prepare members for their roles by exploring issues and explaining group history

                                  Goal:  Educate members about Hispanic Engineers in the work force.

                                  Objective:  Invite Hispanic Engineers from the Dayton area who will talk about their experiences.  Promote and enrich Hispanic Culture through academic, intellectual and social activities.

 

 

 

 

3.              LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT - participate in learning opportunities that motivate and support members in their acquisition and development of leadership abilities

                                  Goal:  Prepare members for future leadership positions.

                                  Objective:  Send two officers to a University sponsored leadership activities and work in conjunction with active members that will take on these positions throughout the year.  Help future officers develop by inviting them to official society presentations to other organizations.

 

 

 

 

 

4.              COMMUNITY SERVICE - group's social and civic responsibility

                                  Goal:  Assist other University of Dayton students and the greater Dayton community with classes related to engineering, math, science, or technology.

                                  Objective:  Creating tutoring services for UD students.  Assist the MEP in professional development sessions.  Assist SHPE Southwest Ohio by volunteering to work in the community computer lab 2 Saturdays per semester.

 

 

 

 

 

5.              UNIVERSITY RELATIONS - respect and take pride in campus community through planning and participating in campus events

                                  Goal:  Create partnerships with the MEP, NSBE, NEP and DSP.

                                  Objective:  Develop a relationship with the before mentioned clubs and others in order to expand our influence on campus.  Invite members from other clubs to special speakers and events.  Partner with MEP and NSBE on a student mentoring program.

 

                                 

 

 

 

 

6.              SOCIAL ACTIVITIES - provide students the opportunity to get acquainted and relax

                                  Goal:  Have activities that include students, professors and professionals that are involved in similar fields of education.

                                  Objective:  Sponsor a welcoming dinner to companies visiting UD for annual career fairs.  Have socials at university facilities (i.e. The Hangar) where people can get their mind off everyday stress.
