    Safety Notice

Tips for protecting yourself concerning the drug GHB
commonly refered to as the date rape drug.

There are ways to avoid becoming a victim of a date rape resulting from the use of any of the drugs being used for that purpose. These drugs are easily disguised in drinks, alcoholic or not, and have very rapid effects. GHB is colorless, odorless, and tasteless and is in a liquid form which is easily dissolved in other liquids and is then virtually undetectable. Following some simple common sense measures can keep you from becoming a victim of this and other sexual assaults.

    • 1. Buy your own drinks (alcohol or non-alcohol), or at least witness it being made and delivered directly to you.

    • 2. Never leave your drink. If you are going to dance, finish the drink before you leave the table. If you leave without finishing it then discard the drink when you return.

    • 3. When at a party where there are people you don't know well, accept drinks from unopened cans or bottles only.

    • 4. If you have any doubt that you may have been the victim of the use of a date rape drug, get tested immediately. The traces of the drug are detectable for about 60 hours after exposier. The drug is no longer detectable after the 60 hours.

    • 5. When going to a bar or attending a party with an unfamiliar date, attend with another couple. Before the date, discuss with the other female what your intentions are concerning intimate behavior with your date. If you behave differently than you discussed with her, she will be alerted something may be wrong.

The ultimate responsibility for your well being is your own. Having fun and partying does not relieve you of that responsibility. Use your head and have SAFE fun.
