UD rugby endured a tough loss to Kent University 13-14. The game was hampered by strict officiating and bad weather but ultimately poor decisions and injuries caused UD's demise.

UD took early control of the game and went into halftime with a 7-0 lead. UD then added a quick kick in the second half to take a strong 10-0 lead. Kent State battled back to make to game 10-7. Matt Cable then added his second kick of the game to make the score 13-7. With little time remaining Kent scored off of a UD penalty and converted the kick after to win the game 14-13.

A large gash to the eye of Eight Man Dan Hunt caused Hunt to miss most of the game, and the loss of winger Mike Chiccolini to a broken leg last week at Saint Louis caused UD to shuffle several players into unfamiliar positions.

UD's b-side showed promise running up the score on Kent as well as posting a shutout.

Next week UD will play Marshall in West Virginia in what promises to be a heated battle.
