UD Rugby's tough season continued with a loss at Marshall. It was UD's second consecutive loss and fourth loss of the season.

UD got on the board first with a try by Hooker Tom Lehner. The points after were missed and UD had the lead 5-0. That lead would not last long as poor tackling and bad passes allowed Marshall to score two late tries and take the lead going into half time 14-5.

Dayton came out strong in the second half scoring a quick try to close the score to 12-14, but Marshall was two strong and closed out the game muck like the first half with two quick tries. The final score was UD 12 Marshall 28.

The news is not all bad for our UDRFC. There were several promising performances by a young Dayton squad. Sophomore Artie Walter showed his versatility moving from flanker to prop and controlling the bigger Marshall pack. New freshman fly-half Adam Flags showed strength and poise throughout the game. Another freshman Hollywood Walt played a great game at flanker; using his tenacity and natural athletic ability to wreck havoc on Marshall.

Dayton's final game of the season will be at OU against Cincinnati Saturday the 16th.
