elcome to the Department of Religious Studies.  The Department of Religious Studies sees itself as a community of scholars serving the University community and the local community by teaching, research, criticism, and action. The main concern of the department is the understanding and elucidation of the Judaeo-Christian religious experience as it is exemplified in the Roman Catholic tradition. This implies not only a deep investigation of the Roman Catholic position but also a dialogue with other Christian denominations and with other world religions. Through its participation in the Sanders Judaic Studies Program, the department offers special courses in this area. It also engages in interdisciplinary studies.
