DayAir Game of the Week

RECPLEX -- It was a battle of the rivals at the third Day Air Credit Union Intramural Game of the Week Championship.

This game was a repeat of last year’s championship in which the Diplomats beat Run N’ Gun to move on to the ACIS National tournament. Therefore, Run N’ Gun were in it for revenge.

“We’ve played with and against the Diplomats players in other intramural games and pickup games so we know them very well. We know exactly what we’re up against and they know the same about us. The game should be very exciting and fast-paced,” Rich Hinman, Captain of team Run N’ Gun said.

However, the Diplomats were not going to go down without a fight since their team motto is “If you ain’t first you last.” They also have a team dance called “Swaggy Bow” that they perform every game as a ritual in providing to their success.

The game started strong with Joquin Thomas making the first basket of the game. During the whole course of the game, the teams were neck and neck within two points of each other. However, the game ended with numerous fouls and the Diplomats defending their title as the Champions with a final score of 55-45.

“It felt good to beat our rival,” LB Barnes said. “It was a hot team effort.


Jeff Noble happily accepts his $25 Debit Card

After the game, Day Air Credit Union gave away the much anticipated $25 Visa Debit Gift Card to the team with the most fans. The lucky fan of the Game of the Week was Jeff Noble who happily received the card.

The MVP of the game was awarded to the Captain of the Diplomats, Mike Trott.

When asked what he was going to do next after being the new Game of the Week Champion, Trott said, “Do our lucky “Swaggy Bow Dance!”
