General Policies

  1. A strict ID policy is enforced when entering the RecPlex. Everyone should be prepared to show his or her ID. No one will be permitted into an activity area of the RecPlex without proper ID; this includes students enrolled in HSS classes. IDs used to gain illegal entrance into the RecPlex will be confiscated.
  2. The RecPlex is a controlled access facility. Only authorized members, with proper identification, are allowed entry. One must enter and exit through the designated area.
  3. Any individual and/or organization not fully complying with the RecPlex policies and guidelines or cooperating with RecPlex staff or instructor may be asked to vacate the premises and may have their privileges revoked. Membership privileges will not be reinstated until after the individual/organization meets with the Assistant Director for Facility Operations.
  4. Alcohol, tobacco, and all banned substances are not permitted in any area of the RecPlex.
  5. Food and beverage are only permitted in the downstairs lounge area located by the juice bar, with the exception of water bottles. No glass containers.
  6. No bicycles, rollerblades, skateboards, or pets are permitted inside the RecPlex.
  7. Please do not put feet on the furniture in the lobby or lounge area.
  8. It is required that a parent/guardian remain in the immediate activity area in which his/her child is participating in any program unless otherwise posted.
  9. Abusive, vulgar, or disruptive language will not be tolerated.
  10. Fighting is grounds for immediate removal from the facility.
  11. Show respect for equipment and facilities at all times; spitting in or defacing the facility is not tolerated and will result in immediate expulsion.
  12. Appropriate athletic attire, such as t-shirts, shorts, warm-up suits, sweat suits, or aerobic clothing, is required at all times. No clothing that is made of jean material will be permitted. Shirt and non-marking athletic shoes must be worn, unless otherwise posted.
  13. Fullback shirts and protective footwear (close toed shoes) are required in the weight room and fitness areas.
  14. Picture taking and/or videotaping is only permissible after obtaining written authorization from the RecPlex Assistant Director for Facility Operations.
  15. Posters or fliers must meet acceptable standards and must be approved by Student Activities and Campus Recreation. Approved posters and fliers will be posted by RecPlex staff ONLY.
  16. Tape is not allowed on walls.
  17. Movement of any building equipment may only be conducted by RecPlex staff.
  18. Modifications of equipment beyond its designed purpose are prohibited.
  19. Injuries, accidents, or equipment failures must be reported immediately to the RecPlex staff.
  20. The Department of Campus Recreation is not responsible for lost or stolen items. Personal belongings are not permitted in activity areas and must be kept in a locker or cubbie.
  21. Patrons are not allowed in employee work areas.
  22. Children 5 years of age and older may not enter the locker room of the opposite sex. There is a family changing area located near the South end of the locker rooms.
  23. Personal Training and Swim Instruction are to be conducted by Campus Recreation Staff ONLY unless provided by the Faculty/Staff Wellness Program.

Entrance Control Policy

The following types of membership are allowed access to the RexPlex:

  1. Currently enrolled full time undergraduates
  2. Faculty/Staff members
  3. Alumni members
  4. Spouses and dependents members
  5. Second person members
  6. Law student/Graduate student members

The following is a SPECIAL CASE that is allowed to use the facility:

  1. Individual or groups with a facility reservation. Note that a rental fee may be assessed.
  2. Each time a member chooses to use the RecPlex they must provide their valid Membership Identification Card/University ID. Patrons will be refused entry without a valid membership ID. A member will be allowed to retrieve his/her ID or can choose to pay the appropriate guest fee for the day.

Guest Policy

1. Guests and the RecPlex member sponsor must register and complete the Guest Waiver and Sponsorship form upon entrance into the facility.

2. Undergraduate full-time students may sponsor up to two (2) guests per day with a guest fee of $5.00 per guest.

3. All other RecPlex members may sponsor up to two (2) guests per day with a guest fee of $8.00 per guest.

4. Children six years old and under are permitted free of charge. A parent/guardian must accompany the child at all times.

5. Children age seven to fifteen years can use the facility for a fee of $5.00 with a parent/guardian member; guests age 16 or older will be charged an $8.00 fee when accompanied by a parent/guardian member. Any member of an undergraduate guest pays only $5.00, regardless of age.

6. Guests under the age of 16 years are permitted ONLY when accompanied by a parent or guardian and must be accompanied at all times.

7. Guests are admitted only when accompanied by a RecPlex member and only when both guest and member have signed the Guest Waiver and Sponsorship form for each date they enter the facility.

8. All guests are REQUIRED to present a VALID photo ID (driver's license, state ID, military ID, or school ID) to enter the facility, along with payment.

9. Non-member faculty/staff/alumni may purchase a one time usage pass for $5.00 with a valid photo ID.

10. Members of the RecPlex are responsible for the actions of their guests at all times.

Visitor/Tour Policy

Visitors who seek to tour or look around the facility must either:

  1. Be accompanied on a formal tour by a RecPlex employee.
  2. Be accompanied by a current member.

Children Policy

Children under age 16 are allowed into facility only when accompanied by a parent/guardian. No strollers will be permitted in the facility. Children must be in direct proximity of their parent/guardian at all times. Children under 16 are ONLY allowed on the first level.

Parking Policy

Parking permits must be obtained from Parking Services, located in College Park Center. Parking Services will issue parking passes based on current lot availability.

The RecPlex is NOT responsible for any parking violations issued by Parking Services. Parking pass fees are NOT included in the price of membership. Prices are subject to change without notice.

Parking fees for long time users:

  1. $60 annual parking permit for the lot adjacent to the RecPlex
  2. Continuous free parking, but will need to continue to go to the parking attendant booth and receive a temporary permit. Assignment to a lot will be based on what visitor lot is available for the day (most likely in the P lot)

Parking fees for members are as follows:

  1. $60 early bird parking pass (good until 9:00am)
  2. $100 evening parking pass (after 4:30pm)
  3. $120 regular parking permit, which allows parking anytime
  4. Free parking after 7:30pm weekdays and anytime on weekends

Group/Individual Reservations

  1. A Facility Reservation Request Form must be completed in order to be considered for a facility reservation. All forms must be turned into the Associate Director for Campus Recreation.
  2. Reservations may not be made more than 4 months in advance.
  3. Reservation Request Forms must be submitted at least 14 days in advance.
  4. The facility is reserved on a first come first serve basis.
  5. Groups should have only one contact person to make facility reservation arrangements.
  6. The Associate Director may require a formal interview to discuss the event.
  7. Group Reservations may require proof of insurance, or liability waiver, for their activities.
  8. Rental fees may be assessed for usage of the facility, equipment, and/or extra staff.

General Room Usage

  1. Usage is by reservation ONLY.
  2. Groups must leave the room at their scheduled time.
  3. The room is to be left in the same orderly condition in which it was found.
  4. Food and drinks are not permitted in facility areas, other than the lounge, without the permission of the Assistant Director for Facilities.
  5. Fees will be assessed for any misuse or damage to facility areas.
  6. Only the RecPlex staff has permission to move the furniture and other contents in the area.
  7. Any event may submit a room setup diagram to the Assistant Director for Facilities one week prior to the event. We will accommodate the diagram to the best of our ability. A set up charge may be assessed.
  8. If at the time of your event, there are concerns or questions about set-up, please see the Welcome Desk.
  9. Since many events may be within the building at the same time, noise is to be kept at a minimum. No group will be permitted to disturb scheduled programs. Singing, playing music, or talking which may disrupt another group should be scheduled in advance with the Associate Director to avoid conflicts.
  10. Any rooms or furnishings that are damaged will be billed on a cost basis to the organization responsible for causing the damage.

Lounge and Front Lobby

  1. Food and drink permitted.
  2. The lounge furniture is not to be used for sleeping.
  3. Please clean up any mess that you make from food, beverage, or homework.
  4. Shoes must be worn at all times.

Racquetball/Walleyball Courts

Racquetball:

  1. The use of closed eyeguards is highly recommended.
  2. All participants must wear court shoes. Street shoes and soft-rubber marking shoes are prohibited.
  3. All players must check in at the Equipment Desk prior to entering their reserved court. Failure to check in by 10 minutes past the scheduled playing time will result in court forfeiture and courts will be reassigned.
  4. ID is required for verification.
  5. Racquets, racquetballs, and eyewear are available for checkout. The individual assumes full responsibility of the equipment that has been checked out.
  6. A fee will be assessed for lost, stolen, or damaged equipment.
  7. For your protection keep all clothing, bags, etc. in a locker or cubbie, not in areas around the racquetball courts.
  8. Shirts must be worn at all times.
  9. Avoid striking the court walls with racquets. Members must refrain from deliberate abuse of courts. Deliberately striking the walls, floors, etc. will result in loss of court privileges.

Walleyball:

  1. Walleyball reservations are available during all facility hours.
  2. Advance reservation is recommended. Walk-in reservations will be honored based on court and set-up availability.
  3. Any time used for set-up will still count as playing time.
  4. Teams are limited to one hour playing time when other patrons are waiting.

Racquetball/Squash/Walleyball Court Reservations:

  1. Courts may be reserved one (1) day in advance only. Only one (1) advanced reservation per day may be made by each person.
  2. Reservations will be accepted for only one (1) hour per person per day. Playing partners may not reserve courts for back-to-back hours.
  3. Patrons making a reservation must check in at the Equipment Desk.
  4. Reserved courts must be claimed within 10 minutes. Courts not claimed within the 10 minutes time period become open courts.

Reservation System:

  1. Individuals may reserve courts for the same day or one day in advance by calling 229-2719 or in person at the Equipment Desk.
  2. Reservations may be made during operational hours.
  3. Members will make a reservation by leaving their name, phone number, and date of reservation with the RecPlex Equipment Desk.
  4. Court 1 will be reserved as a challenge court. The loser vacates the court and the winner stays to play the next challenger.
  5. Courts 2 and 3 will be reserved on a first come first serve basis.
  6. All courts are equipped for wallyball. Please inform the managers to set up the wallyball net.
  7. Court 1 is accessible for squash.

Sand Volleyball

  1. Food, glass, cans, or containers of any kind are not permitted in the court area.
  2. Alcoholic beverages are not permitted.
  3. Climbing on fences is prohibited.
  4. Volleyballs hit on the roof are considered lost and will result in a fine.
  5. Injuries must be reported to the RexPlex staff.
  6. Courts are open on a first come first serve basis.
  7. Sand is to be washed off before entering the RecPlex.
  8. Courts are to be used by UD students, faculty, staff, alumni and their guests only.

Equipment Desk

  1. To obtain equipment, patrons must present a valid UD ID or RecPlex membership to the Equipment Desk Attendant. Participants will be charged a fee for damaged equipment.
  2. Equipment must be returned 15 minutes prior to closing time each day.
  3. Sponsors may check out equipment for their guests and will assume all responsibility for equipment issued.
  4. Shower Towel Service – a used shower towel can be exchanged for a clean one at the Equipment Desk.
  5. Shower towels will only be issued to those who have purchased the towel service.

Indoor Track

  1. All users must be 16 years of age or older
  2. Run and/or walk clockwise on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday.
  3. Run and/or walk counterclockwise on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.
  4. Inner two lanes are reserved for walkers (Slow).
  5. Outer two lanes are reserved for joggers (Fast).
  6. Faster runners have the right of way.
  7. Pass others on the outside.
  8. Stretching areas are located in various areas around the track.
  9. Shirts are required.
  10. Jogging track is always available unless otherwise posted.
  11. Loitering on the track surface is not permitted.
  12. Sprinting and/or any backward moving activity is not permitted.
  13. Eight laps equates one mile.
  14. The track is not an observation deak.
  15. Absolutely NO SPIKES.

Climbing Wall

  1. No usage of the wall while the wall is closed.
  2. All rings and jewelry must be removed while climbing.
  3. All climbers must sign in at the control desk for the wall.
  4. All climbers must be supported by a certified belayer.
  5. Solo climbing is not permitted.
  6. Climbers are to use the ropes and for floor anchors provided by the RecPlex.
  7. Harnesses must be double backed at the waist and at the leg loop buckles when being used by climbers and belayers.
  8. Always check and double check knots, harnesses, and belay system before each climb.
  9. Always use proper belay and climbing commands.
  10. The adjustment or rearrangement of hand holds is not permitted. The holds and routes are rearranged by the climbing wall staff. Suggestions are always welcome and may be directed to the wall staff.
  11. The climbing wall staff reserves the right to revoke climbing wall privileges to anyone who refuses to follow policies or does not climb/belay in a safe manner that endangers themselves or others.
  12. Only climbers are allowed into the climbing wall area. No non-climbers are allowed into the area while the wall is open.
  13. No chalk is allowed to be used at the wall.

Fitness Center

  1. All users must be 16 years of age or older.
  2. If you have questions or are unfamiliar with any of the equipment, please ask the Fitness Staff for assistance.
  3. Patrons should use extreme caution when lifting weights to avoid potential injuries to themselves or others.
  4. The use of weight belts for proper abdominal and lower back support is strongly recommended.
  5. Do not perform squatting types or Olympic lifts outside the power rack.
  6. When performing maximal free weight exercises utilize a spotter or staff member.
  7. Please report any facility related injuries or equipment irregularities to the Fitness Staff on duty.
  8. Top loading additional weights on the weight stack is strictly prohibited.
  9. Proper training attire is limited to t-shirts and athletic shoes at all times. A full back t-shirt is required in the Fitness Center.
  10. No open-toed shoes (flip flops, sandals, etc).
  11. Do not wear weight belts, or any clothing with rivets, buckles, or clasps (jeans) that could cut equipment upholstery.
  12. Clean equipment with a towel and proper disinfectant after use.
  13. Do not engage in horseplay.
  14. No food or beverages allowed in the Fitness Center, except water bottles. The bottle must have a top.
  15. Keep feet off of the walls.
  16. Use of collars on the Olympic bars is strongly recommended.
  17. Move weights from the racks to the bars only.
  18. Do not lean against equipment or walls.
  19. Do not rest on equipment between sets.
  20. Return dumbbells and plates to the rack in their proper order.
  21. Do not drop plates or dumbbells.
  22. Dumbbells, weight plates, and bars should not be dropped or leaned against the walls, mirrors, and/or other equipment.

Group Fitness Studios

  1. A valid Group Fitness Pass is required.
  2. All users must be 18 years old, unless they are a full-time undergraduate student.
  3. Group Fitness Instructors reserve the right to limit the number of participants in a class.
  4. T-shirts, tank tops, and athletic shoes are required at all times. Mid-drift apparel or a sport bra only is not permitted.
  5. No open-toed shoes (flip-flops, sandals, etc). The absence of shoes is permitted only during mind-body classes.
  6. If class has started, after five (5) minutes no one will be allowed into the class.
  7. All belongings must be stored in cubbies located in each studio.
  8. Members may sponsor one guest by purchasing a Fitness Guest Pass from the Welcome Desk. Guests will be required to pay the facility guest fee as well as the fitness guest fee.
  9. Instructors will check for memberships prior to the start of class.
  10. Do not drop dumbbells or barbells.
  11. Store all equipment after use.
  12. Always wipe down bikes and mats after class with disinfectant and a towel.
  13. Patrons must wait to enter the studio until the previous class has ended.
  14. Usage is by reservation ONLY.

Main Gym & MAC (Multi-Activity Courts) Gym Rules

  1. Since all games are self-monitored, good sportsmanship and proper conduct are expected.
  2. BLACK SOLED SHOES and other marking shoes are not permitted on the playing floor. RecPlex staff will make a discretionary decision in some special cases. Black soled running shoes are only permitted when running on the jogging track.
  3. Closed-toed shoes must be worn at all times.
  4. Grabbing or hanging on the net or rim is prohibited. Violators will be escorted from the building.
  5. Equipment deemed unsafe in the gymnasium is prohibited unless special permission is obtained from a RecPlex Professional Staff member.
  6. Soccer and tennis are permitted in the MAC gymnasium ONLY.
  7. Spitting is prohibited.
  8. Chewing gum and food are not permitted in the gymnasiums.
  9. Resealable water containers ONLY.
  10. Members must refrain from the deliberate abuse of the walls, ceilings, equipment, etc. by kicking or striking with racquets, balls, etc.
  11. Disassembling or moving equipment that has been set up is not allowed. Only Campus Recreation staff is allowed to move equipment.
  12. Some scheduled activities in the gymnasium may take priority over open recreation.
  13. Shirts are required unless shirts/skins team designation is needed.
  14. Personal belongings must be stored in cubbies and are not permitted on the side of the court area, on the basketball goals, or in the way of emergency exits.
  15. Emergency Exits are for emergency usage ONLY. Anyone caught sneaking another individual into the facility will be immediately removed from the facility. The individuals will not be allowed back into the facility without speaking with the Assistant Director for Facilities.
  16. Patrons who violate any gym rule will be asked to leave.

Basketball Challenge Court Rules:

  1. Challenge court rules apply when patrons are waiting on the sidelines to play.
  2. Games are played to 12, by ones.
  3. Winners stay, losers rotate off.

Volleyball Court Challenge Rules:

  1. Volleyball games will be played to 15, rally score.
  2. Best two out of three games.
  3. Volleyball is by reservation only in the MAC Gym.
  4. Reservation times may be limited due to special events, class, intramural sport, and club sport team usage.

Tennis:

  1. Tennis courts (2) are available in the MAC Gym.
  2. Tennis is by reservation ONLY.
  3. Reservation times may be limited due to special events, class, intramural sport, and club sport team usage.

Aquatic Center Guidelines

General Guidelines:

  1. Swimming is allowed only when a lifeguard is on duty, and instructions of the lifeguard must be obeyed at all times.
  2. Running, rough play, intoxication and profanity are prohibited.
  3. Glass containers and food are not permitted in the pool area.
  4. Swimsuits are required. No cut-off shorts or gym shorts allowed. Changing your clothes on the deck is prohibited.
  5. Only towels, deck footwear, and items necessary for swimming are allowed on deck. All other personal belongings must be stored in a locker. Do not ask the lifeguards to keep your personal items or valuables.
  6. Children age 5 or under must have a parent or guardian (at least 18 years of age) with them in the water at all times.
  7. Lifeguards have the discretionary authority to require a parent or guardian to be in the water with a child over 5 years of age whom they judge to be a weak swimmer.
  8. Children under age 14 must have a parent or guardian poolside.
  9. Children ages 14-17 must have a parent or guardian accompany them at all times.
  10. Lap swimmers may be required to circle swim in a counter-clockwise direction when lane use exceeds two patrons. A lane is not considered full until there are 4 adults in a lane.
  11. The pool may be closed or have restricted use due to competitive events, special events, or rentals.
  12. Pool space may be reserved only by contacting the Assistant Director for Aquatics.
  13. Participants are not allowed to enter the water until a lifeguard is on duty and blows the whistle to enter the water.
  14. Life jackets and other flotation devices used as a means of support for non-swimmers are only allowed in the shallow area of the lap swimming pool and leisure pool. In addition, the lifeguard must approve flotation devices.
  15. Kickboards, pull buoys, and aqua-joggers are training aids and may not be used as flotation devices.
  16. No diving in the leisure pool, lanes 7 & 8, and the whirlpool.
  17. Public display of affection is prohibited.
  18. People using the vortex pool must be able to swim in deep water.

Diving Area Rules:

  1. Participants in the diving well must be able to swim the width of the pool.
  2. One bounce allowed on the diving board.
  3. You must wait until the person who jumped before you is at the wall before jumping.
  4. One person on the board at a time.
  5. All dives must be forward dives. No back dives, handstands, cartwheels or seat drops are permitted.
  6. When a class is being conducted in the diving well, the diving board is closed.
  7. Swimming in the diving well while the diving board is in use is prohibited.
  8. Diving or jumping deemed unsafe, in the judgment of the lifeguard, will be prohibited.

Whirlpool Rules:

  1. Children under 14 are prohibited from using the whirlpool.
  2. All users must shower before entering.
  3. Please enter and exit slowly and cautiously.
  4. Long exposure to hot tubs may result in nausea, dizziness, or fainting.
  5. Individuals may not completely submerge themselves in the spa.
  6. The spa is not advised for individuals with heart disease, abnormal blood pressure, epilepsy, or emotional disorders.
  7. Pregnant women should not use the hot tub.
  8. Do not use the hot tub while under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
  9. People with open wounds or infectious diseases are not permitted in the hot tub.

Sundeck:

  1. No smoking, tobacco, drugs, or any alcoholic beverage will be permitted.
  2. No glass will be permitted.
  3. Please dispose of waste in the proper containers.
  4. A swimsuit must be worn at all times.
  5. Sunscreen is highly recommended.

Aquatic Center Safety Rules:

  1. A long whistle blast may signal an emergency. Exit the pool immediately and look to the lifeguard for further instruction.
  2. Patrons under the influence of alcohol or other drugs that alter awareness are restricted from the building.
  3. You may be asked by a lifeguard to show an ability to swim before using the pool.
  4. Glass is prohibited in the pool area.
  5. Do not hang on the lane lines.
  6. Use of the starting blocks is restricted to organized competitive practice or competition.
  7. For the safety of our members, all pools will be cleared during severe weather.

Health Rules:

  1. No bandages or casts may be worn into the pool.
  2. Do not swim when you have diarrhea. This is especially important for children in diapers. You can spread germs in the water and make other people sick.
  3. Change diapers in a bathroom, not poolside.
  4. Swim diapers are required for all children not toilet trained.

Wellness Lab

  1. Payment will be collected by the staff at the wellness lab. Receipts will be given to the client after purchase is finalized.
  2. Payment is due at the beginning of the appointment (personal training, massage, etc.)
  3. Failure to pay will result in termination of the appointment.
  4. Both staff and clients will conduct themselves in an appropriate and professional manner.
  5. Clients that engage in inappropriate behaviors will be told to leave immediately. As a result, they will be deemed “delinquent” and banned from these services. A meeting with the Assistant Fitness Director is required for consideration of re-admittance.
  6. Clients must cancel appointments at least 24 hours in advance.
  7. Personal trainers, wellness lab staff, and massage therapists reserve the right to cancel an appointment if his/her client is 10 minutes late.
  8. The client will be contacted and the incident will be logged. Incidents are defined below:
    1. No call, no show.
    2. Cancellation less than 24 hours in advance.
    3. Late beyond 10 minutes.
    4. Inappropriate behavior.
    5. No payment.
  9. Documentation will be kept concerning the clients name, phone number, staff notes, and incident/delinquent status.
  10. Three repeated incidences will result in a six (6) month delay in services and termed “delinquent”.

Locker Rooms

  1. Overnight storage is not permitted in the locker rooms unless you have rented a locker on an annual basis. Personal locks will be cut off and personal items removed. Items will be kept 30 days and then will be taken to a local charity.
  2. Glass containers are not permitted in the locker rooms.
  3. WARNING – Wet surfaces in the locker room may be slippery.
  4. Please report suspicious behavior to the RecPlex staff.
  5. The Department of Campus Recreation is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged personal property.
  6. Locker rentals are available annually through the Main Office.
  7. Children ages 5 and older may not enter the opposite gender locker room. Please respect the rights and privacy of others. If you feel an older child is in the wrong locker room, please report it immediately to the manager on duty.
  8. There is a Family Locker Room located next to the locker rooms.

Daily Lockers:

  1. All patrons may use lockers on a daily basis.
  2. The daily lockers are for temporary item storage while using the RecPlex. Locks left on daily lockers will be removed nightly. Daily lockers may not be used to store items overnight.
  3. All daily lockers must be cleared at least 15 minutes prior to closing. Locks will be cut off and items left in the lockers will be removed.
  4. Items removed will be kept for 30 days.

Coin Lockers:

  1. All coin lockers must be cleared at least 15 minutes prior to closing. Lockers will be cleared and items left in the lockers will be removed. Coin-operated lockers may not be used to store items overnight.
  2. Patrons losing the key must pay a $30.00 replacement fee. Confiscated items will be returned upon payment.
  3. Items removed will be kept for 30 days.

Photography/Video Imaging Recording Policy

The following must be completed in order to film or take pictures in the RecPlex:

  1. Individuals wishing to take pictures or use a video tape recorder in the RecPlex must be approved by the Department of Campus Recreation.
  2. The approval will be noted on the Daily Manager Report.
  3. Permission will be granted for video/audio taping of the general facility only.
  4. Members and/or guests involved in individual workouts such as weight lifting, aerobic exercise/dance, swimming cardiovascular exercise and/or climbing cannot be video taped except as they appear in the background of a facility area. No member may be singled out for videotape purposes without their consent.
  5. Complaints from members regarding any aspect related to the production of videotape in the RecPlex will result in termination of the videotape process, forfeiture of the actual footage, and Campus Police will be notified.
  6. The Department of Campus Recreation reserves the right to have this videotape removed from all viewing formats should a representative of Campus Recreation determine that the standards of this agreement have not been met.

Solicitation Policy/Building Postings

The following must be completed in order to have advertisements or signage placed in the RecPlex:

  1. Anyone wishing to post anything in any area of the building must first have it approved by the Department of Campus Recreation.
  2. Posting is allowed in specified areas of the RecPlex, and items will only be posted by a member of the Campus Recreation staff on a first come first serve basis.
  3. Campus Recreation reserves the right to limit the total number of postings for each event.

Lost and Found

  1. Campus Recreation is not responsible for lost or stolen articles.
  2. Patrons are encouraged to store all personal belongings in provided lockers.
  3. Staff members are not permitted to hold valuables or bags for patrons. Clothing and bags must be stored in lockers or cubbies.
  4. Found items and equipment will be sent to the Equipment Desk daily. Items will only be kept for 30 days and then given to a local charity.
  5. Patrons are highly encouraged to leave all valuables at home.

Assumption of Risk:

Participants understand that physical activities contain an element of inherent danger in cluding serious injury or even death. Participation in all activities is on a voluntary basis at the individual’s own risk. All participants are strongly encouraged to undergo a physical examination and consult with their personal physician regarding fitness level appropriateness for strenuous activities. They also are encouraged to carry medical insurance coverage, prior to participating in any Campus Recreation activity.
