Psychology is the scientific study of behavior and, as such, is a diverse field that touches all aspects of the human endeavor. The objectives of the Department of Psychology are to provide students with learning experiences in and out of the classroom which will:
  • increase their critical thinking skills
  • facilitate their acquisition of the body of knowledge inherent in the study of human behavior
  • equip them with its research methodology, and
  • prepare them for employment or graduate school.

The Department of Psychology offers both the Bachelor of Arts and the Bachelor of Science degrees. Each student, in consultation with an advisor, selects a program leading to either a BA or a BS degree according to individual interests and goals. Detailed information about the undergraduate programs is located in the Psychology Undergraduate Student Handbook (PUSH). Brief course descriptions can be found on the link to the left.
