The Physics Department at the University of Dayton is seeking applications for a tenure track faculty position to begin in August of 2009. A Ph.D. in physics or optical sciences with a physics emphasis is required. Preference will be given to experimentalists in the area of electro-optics. Applicants should be committed to quality teaching in a liberal arts environment and should be capable of establishing their own research program. Duties would include teaching all levels of undergraduate physics, teaching graduate electrooptics courses, and contributing to department electro-optics research activities. The successful applicant should have demonstrated experience, or interest, in teaching students from different racial, ethnic, gender, and class backgrounds and who appreciates Catholic Marianist Values.
