Changes in
Chautauqua for 2010
The National Science Foundation has not funded any of the Chautauqua Short Course Centers for 2008, 2009, or 2010. Several centers including the University of Dayton Center will offer a limited number of courses in 2010. The fee structure must cover all course expenses including some items previously subsidized. While expenses vary from course to course, they may include course director stipend and travel, handout preparation, facilities, participant refreshments, field trip van rental including insurance and gas, admissions to sites and office expenses. Each course will have an application fee and a course fee. At the Dayton Center the application fee is $100. The course fee is $195 for most courses; field courses have a higher fee that varies depending on course needs for participants in the field. Optional lodging is not included in the course fee. Faculty may submit an application for a Dayton course on line on this site and then send a check by regular mail for the application fee. The check should be made out to "Chautauqua Program" and mailed to
