Interested in joining Phi Beta Chi? Become part of our tradition of success and fun! Phi Beta Chi offers two opportunities to rush each year - once in the fall and once in the spring. Find out how you can become part of our family! You must fulfill these requirements:
- Be a communication major, in any concentration - Communication Studies, Electronic Media, Journalism, Management, Public Relations, Theatre
- Be at least a second semester freshman, and at most, a first semester junior (ie. 15-60 credit hours)
- Have a 2.5 overall GPA
- Have a 3.0 GPA in your communication classes
Here's what you need to do to become a pledge:
- Attend all three rush events
- Fill out an application
- Submit two forms of recommendation (given out at first rush)
- Complete a rush interview with a panel of brothers
Here's what you need to do to become a brother:
- Receive a bid
- Attend all pledge meetings (one night a week for nine weeks)
- Pass pledge quizzes
- Wear your Phi Beta Chi pledge pin every day!
- Participate in pledge class fundraiser
- Interview each active brother
- Pay dues
- Attend initiation
