Orpheus is the University of Dayton's-written, student-produced literary and
arts magazine. It is the University of Dayton's oldest organization.
It is published once a semester. Works may be reprinted or reproduced
only with the permission of the author/artist.
On the broadest level, the mission of Orpheus is to
support all kinds of cultural and artistic endeavors in the University
of Dayton community. These can include anything from performances, readings,
productions, and showings of various forms on campus to the publication
of a literary/ arts magazine, which is our primary goal.
The mission of the magazine is two fold: it is a service
for the students who have their works published in it, enabling them
to share it with an audience of their peers; and second, it is an artifact
made available to the Univesity of Dayton family. As an artifact, it
serves as an object for discussion and as a limited record of the quality
and nature of creative expression that takes place at the University
of Dayton.
