My graduate
course load includes classes dealing with curriculum, curriculum development,
and evaluation. Each fall semester, I am heavily involved with
the secondary school block for pre-service teachers, focusing upon the integration
of philosophy of education into this integrative experience. My professional
interests also include issues of Catholic education and critical pedagogy, which
have resulted in two published works: Liberation
Theology and Critical Pedagogy in Today's Catholic Schools: Social Justice in
Action (1997) and Catholic
Education Leadership: A Call to Lead (2000).
I am also a religious brother in the Society of Mary (Marianists)--since 1965. My own interests include reading novels, cooking, baking, and traveling. I have traveled to Brazil, Columbia, Mexico, Kenya, Ghana, Zambia, Austria, Spain, Italy, Korea, Thailand, Israel, England, and many other countries.
Besides teaching in high schools in Ohio, Tennessee, and Michigan, I was the principal of St. Paul’s Seminary, Benin City, Nigeria, and of St. Laurence College, Loughlinstown, Ireland.
During January – April 2000, I taught a course in School, Self and Society (Sociology of Education), as part of the Bachelor's Degree program of the Department of Philosophy of the University of Dayton at Deepahalli, Bangalore, India. I will be continuing my involvement in this program during the second semester of the 2000 - 2001 academic year.
Below you will find links for the classes I teach at the University
of Dayton plus some of the places I like to browse on the web.
