The University of Dayton is now in the third year of the UD Student Computer Initiative (which requires students to purchase either a desktop or notebook computer). Beginning Fall 2002, the School of Business Administration will be requiring all entering SBA first year students to purchase notebook computers.
The Provost, Deans and IT Steering Committee will be considering the costs and benefits of extending the notebook-only requirement to all entering first year students beginning in Fall 2003.
The University community is being asked to offer comments on the academic and financial considerations of this proposal. Submitted comments will be summarized and provided to the Provost Council and IT Steering Committee as input to be considered as they attempt to weigh this decision.
This site is intended to serve as an information resource for those considering this decision.
