BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTION:

The PC/Network Support Specialist will assist faculty, staff and students with computer and/or network related problems; provide excellent customer service through phone support, walk-in help desk support and onsite visits; provide software and hardware diagnostic support using software utilities or the research of knowledge bases; install and configure new PC’s and peripherals; maintain current versions of key software products, such as e-mail, anti-virus and Microsoft Office; diagnose and troubleshoot general Novell issues such as network printer problems or tree and server issues; document and track work performed; and perform other related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:

Applicants must be a currently employed at the University of Dayton.  Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.  Must have extensive experience with Windows (NT/2000/XP), MS Office and PC’s running in a Novell network environment; excellent diagnostic and troubleshooting skills; excellent customer service and communication skills; must be comfortable with and have experience working in a project-oriented, team-oriented environment.  Must have experience using knowledge base tools and have a general understanding of help desk procedures and practices.
