BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Assistant Director of Athletics Communications assists the Associate Director of Athletics with reporting coverage for the 17 varsity sports programs, providing up-to-date news, feature ideas, statistics, records, etc to print and electronic media, as well as conference and national offices. The goal is to gain maximum positive exposure for University of Dayton athletics.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
Basic qualifications: Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in public relations, communication, marketing, journalism, sports administration or other related field. Two to three years experience in a collegiate athletics communication office. Must have professional verbal, written, interpersonal and organizational skills. Attention to detail and customer service oriented. Must be able to perform in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment; ability to work independently and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Preferred qualifications: Solid working knowledge of desktop publishing programs (Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign) as well as statistical software (StatCrew).
