POSITION IS:                              Full-time/12 months/35 hrs per week

BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTION:

 

The Assistant Dean and Director of Multicultural Affairs is responsible for the total development of a comprehensive diversity and intercultural program that fosters student development and prioritizes student success.  Provides leadership for a department, supervising and training Assistant Directors, graduate assistants and office staff, as well as, direct assessment, policy development and strategic planning for the unit.

 

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:

 

Basic qualifications:  Bachelors and Masters degree and at least 5 years of increasing responsibility in a student affairs field, post-masters.  In addition, the successful candidate will possess:  an understanding and support for the values and perspective of a Catholic liberal arts education.  Competence in multicultural organizational development, assessment of campus climate and program evaluation.  An ability to supervise professional and office staff and manage a unit budget.  Informed knowledge of the experience of students of color in college setting.  A demonstrated commitment to promote diversity, assess inclusion and foster equity.  Strong background in Multicultural Affairs and diversity programming.  The ability to be an effective team member who can work across organizational boundaries.

 

 

Preferred qualifications:  PhD in Student Affairs, Education, Human Resources, Communication or related field and strong background in the use of qualitative assessment of student learning outcomes.
