DEPARTMENT: Athletics-Women’s Basketball POSTING DATE: April 18, 2006 POSITION TITLE: Assistant Basketball Coach (B) POSITION IS: Full time/40 hrs per week/12 months HIRING RANGE: Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience DATE AVAILABLE: May 2006
BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTION:
The assistant coach will assist the head coach in all facets of operating an accomplished Division I women’s basketball program. Duties include, but are not limited to, skills training and development, recruiting, practice and game plan preparation, administrative and other duties as assigned. This assistant coaching position is charged with recruiting and training quality collegiate student-athletes, adherence to NCAA, Atlantic 10 Conference, and University rules, scheduling, player development, planning and implementation of practices, team travel and equipment, match preparation, assisting with camps and creating winning chemistry on the team.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred. Multiple years of intercollegiate women’s basketball coaching experience; National and regional recruiting experience required, knowledge of NCAA rules and a commitment to adhering to institutional, conference and NCAA, policies, rules and regulations.
