DEPARTMENT: Residence Education POSTING DATE: January 5, 2007 POSITION TITLE: Area Coordinator (A) (4 positions available) POSITION IS: Full time/40 hours per week/12 months HIRING RANGE: Salary will be commensurate with education and experience DATE AVAILABLE: July 2007
BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Area Coordinator is a full time 12 month, live in position responsible for coordinating all aspects of Student Development in a residential area. Assumes responsibility for staffing, including training, supervision, and evaluation of paraprofessional and graduate staff; student and community development; and student behavior management for the community, as well as the autonomy to create and implement your own mission-based programming model for each unique residential area. Area Coordinators directly supervise 8 to 24 Resident Assistants, as well as 1 to 4 graduate level Residence Coordinators.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
Master’s degree in College Student Personnel, Counseling, or related field required, strong supervisory, communication, and administrative skills; must have vision, enthusiasm, flexibility and commitment. Prior residential life experience is preferred.
