DEPARTMENT: Residence Education POSTING DATE: March 3, 2006 POSITION TITLE: Area Coordinator (A) POSITION IS: Full time (live-in)/40 hours per week/12 months HIRING RANGE: $29,900 - $32,000 DATE AVAILABLE: July 2006
BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Area Coordinator is responsible for coordinating all aspects of Student Development in a residential area. This includes staffing, including, training, supervision, and evaluation of paraprofessional staff; student community development; and student behavior management for the community. Area Coordinators have the autonomy to create and implement their own mission-based programming model for each unique residential area. This position will directly supervise 8 to 18 Resident Assistants, as well as 1 to 3 graduate level Residence Coordinators. Additional responsibilities will be assigned in orientation and training sessions. This is a live-in position.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
Master’s degree in College Student Personnel, Counseling, or related field required; prior residential life experience is preferred. Must have the ability to challenge, support and guide students. Strong supervisory, communication and administrative skills. Vision, enthusiasm, flexibility, and commitment highly desired.
