DEPARTMENT: UDit/Business Services POSTING DATE: March 13, 2007 POSITION TITLE: Applications Administrator (A) POSITION IS: Full time/40 hours per week/12 months HIRING RANGE: Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience DATE AVAILABLE: April 2007
BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Applications Administrator will support administrative applications and users for the UDit/Business Services unit. Responsibilities, include although are not limited to, a help desk system, an internal billing system, a document management output system, a project tracking system, and an online survey tool. The position will also act as a backup administrator for other related services, and will be required to work some on-call hours, i.e. after hours, weekends, and holiday.
Relies on experience, sound judgment, and originality to accomplish objectives while performing a variety of tasks on an array of projects. Possesses the ability to adapt quickly, communicate effectively, understand and execute creative and technical directions, and think critically. Moves flexibly between independent work and group work. Demonstrates a strong commitment to collaboration through the embodiment of professionalism and supporting the community-oriented character of the University.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
Required: Bachelor’s Degree in related field. Minimum 2 years experience with relational databases, detail-oriented, with an understanding of sound operational processes. Must have excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational skills with the ability to juggle multiple projects and continuously re-evaluate priorities, willingness and ability to learn new technical skills. Ability to work alone with minimal supervision and function as a team player within a larger IT cohort as appropriate and to work on-call hours i.e. after hours, weekends, holidays, as needed.
Preferred: Two or more years experience with Microsoft SQL. Experience using Microsoft Office products, especially Word and Excel. Previous work experience in a higher education environment.
