POSITION TITLE:           Administrative Secretary (7)

POSITION IS:                   Full time/35 hours per week/12 months

HIRING RANGE:             $10.48 per hour minimum

DATE AVAILABLE:       September 2006

 

BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTION:

 

The Administrative Secretary will provide broad based support to the Office of the Dean of UD Libraries and the UD Library Advancement Association.  Carry out responsibilities in accounts payable preparation and verification; Roesch gallery scheduling and special event coordination; recording of meeting minutes; general data-entry and report generation; and scheduling.  Serves as receptionist for the Dean’s office suite handling questions, needs and referrals in a professional and confidential manner and keeps the Dean’s calendar.

 

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:

 

High School diploma or equivalent with a minimum of two years of related office experience required, and/or any combination of post high school related training and/or education.  Some college preferred.  Bookkeeping experience and proficiency required.  Accurate typing and data entry skills needed.  Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Windows needed as well as familiarity with electronic mail and calendar applications.  Must have excellent interpersonal skills; the ability to interact effectively within a diverse community of University employees and students, donors, and the public and present a positive and professional image to office visitors.  Ability to work with confidential material and information required.  Must be able to effectively manage time and programs, prioritize and take initiative, and coordinate numerous tasks.  Experience in a library setting is preferred.
