BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTION: The Administrative Associate will serve the Business Management and Administrative needs for the Institute for the Development and Commercialization of Advanced Sensor Technology (IDCAST) and the Sensor Technology Office (STO). The major responsibilities include working with IDCAST collaborators on areas of cost-share, quarterly reporting with the State of Ohio, tracking and monitoring of IDCAST/STO finances, budgets, and expenditures, generation of IDCAST/STO large Purchase Request, Liaison and Coordination with the Research Institute Administrative Offices, distribute paychecks, overseeing personnel administration, and to ensuring the quality and timely delivery of all financial, performance, and technical program deliverables, evaluating grant applications, being the point of contact for grantees, attending Executive Board Meetings, and being heavily involved in completing A, B, and C level metrics, as well as other requirements of all IDCAST/STO contracts and internal accounts.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree. Ability to interface one on one with IDCAST Collaborators/STO Customers at their facilities to collect needed information and to strengthen collaborative opportunities. Must have knowledge of financial reporting methods and ability to collect and report financial performance information, of contract administration, management, and basic business and accounting principles and techniques implemented at UDRI. Ability to generate reports fro State of Ohio and STO customers. Ability to implement policies and procedures, to exercise discretion and to apply independent judgment, problem solving, and decision making skills in the performance of all duties. Ability to perform multiple complex tasks independently and with minimal direction. Ability to talk to collaborators, potential and existing, about IDCAST and STO. Knowledge and understanding of engineering/science. Knowledge and application of University/UDRI policies and procedures and ability to apply these in daily administrative duties. Advanced computer skills using Microsoft Word for Windows, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Photo Editor, etc. High proficiency in the use and application of the English language (both oral and written), including technical terminology, for the purpose of editing technical and administrative documents and to effectively communicate with sponsors and University/UDRI personnel.
Preferred Qualifications: MBA w/related technical and administrative background or experiences.
