HIRING RANGE:             $12.28 per hour minimum

BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTION:

 

The Administrative Assistant is a non-exempt administrative support position within the Office of the Provost and a member of a collaborative support staff team.  Provides a variety of administrative support to the Provost, as well as other Provost’s Office staff, as appropriate and necessary to ensure services and functions of the office are carried out in an efficient and professional manner.

 

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:

 

High School diploma or equivalent plus three years of professional experience required.  Bachelor’s degree or some college experience preferred.  Proven proficiency with Microsoft Office products and Lotus Notes required.  Familiarity with MS FrontPage and University’s Colleague student information system preferred.  Must have strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills and customer service orientation to communicate and develop positive working relationships with persons at all levels of the University and those outside the University.  Must have excellent organizational, analytical, editing, and proofreading skills and good listening and comprehension skills to take accurate notes and compose meeting minutes; basic familiarity with the University’s organizational structure and functioning.  Ability to prioritize and use independent judgment and problem-solving skills for decision-making, handle sensitive issues and maintain confidentiality, coordinate complex calendar scheduling for individual meeting requests and group meetings, take direction and then work independently, consulting with others as needed, to accomplish tasks, and focus on details and coordinate multiple tasks, focus on details and coordinate multiple tasks accurately in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
