BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTION: The Administrative Associate will provide high-level support to the Chief of the Air Force Nondestructive Inspection Office (NDI) located at Tinker AFB, Oklahoma (AFRL/MLS-OL, NDIO) for 200 NDI worldwide laboratories and 1200 inspection technicians, and provide direct support for 12 engineers. As NDI office manager, the incumbent must operate independently with the ability to make decisions, develop NDI office policy and procedures, manage ~150 trips annually, and manage the office budget. Responsibilities also include organizing and executing the AF-wide annual NDI Conference that is attended by over 220 NDI specialists from all over the world. Also responsible for the creation and preparation of official AF NDI Technical Orders such as TO 33B-1-1 and TO 33B-1-2 which govern the required inspection procedures for safety of flight of AF assets. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma or equivalent. Ability to work independently at a remote site in a fast paced technical environment where decisions affect the safety of aircraft and lives of pilots. Must have knowledge and experience in preparation and tracking of government travel authorizations and expenditures through the Defense Travel System (DTS). Mature judgment in balancing the requirements of the NDI program office and the needs of the AF NDI customer base including the Major Commands, Air Logistic Centers, and Air Staff Managers. Ability to handle confidential and proprietary information and data, exercising discretion and judgment when influencing the behavior of demanding vendors and senior AF officers. Must have experience organizing, coordinating and running off-site meetings and conferences. Must be trained and experienced in the maintenance and management of physical and electronic records in accordance with Air Force Instruction 33-322 (AFI 33-322). Must have a thorough knowledge of MS Office software, including Word, Excel, & PowerPoint & Outlook, familiarity with and ability to input data into Defense Civilian Pay System (DCPS). Thorough knowledge & capability at website design & maintenance.
