NOTICE OF POSITION OPENING
DEPARTMENT: Health and Sport Science POSTING DATE: February 25, 2008 POSITION TITLE: Administrative Assistant (9) POSITION IS: Full time/36-40 hours per week/12 months HIRING RANGE: $12.71 per hour minimum DATE AVAILABLE: March 2008
BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Administrative Assistant primary responsibilities are to assist the program director, clinical education department, and doctor of physical therapy program, in general, in providing students with a high-quality education. These primary duties would include, but are not limited to: providing administrative support to the program director, clinical education department, and physical therapy program. Coordinates all office functions, serves as front office program representative, coordinates and monitors program schedules and communicating classroom and lab reservations/needs. Monitors the student resource area, keeping up-to-date inventory of all resource materials, maintains program filing system to include general program files, academic student files, student clinical education files, curriculum files, accreditation files, faculty and adjunct faculty personnel files, financial files, and lab equipment/inventory files. Assists faculty and program director with monitoring of student testing, grading, and academic status. Develops program documents and informational materials, as needed. Works closely with the program and program applicants providing follow-up and excellent communication through the application, interview, and enrollment process.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
Basic qualifications: Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite to include Word, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, and Excel. Ability to multi-task and prioritize appropriately. Strong written and verbal communication abilities. Excellent interpersonal relationship skills, and attention to detail and ability to thoroughly follow through on directions and specific instructions.
Preferred qualifications: Associates degree or higher. Previous experience working in a physical therapist educational program or physical therapy practice. Excellent computer knowledge to include familiarity with Internet, e-mail, and basic computer functions. Experience with desktop publishing and ability to create high-quality printed brochures and materials.
