POSITION IS:                              Full time/40 hours per week/12 months

HIRING RANGE:                         Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience

BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Accounting Administrator reports to the Controller.  Responsible for creating and implementing policies and procedures required of sponsored research programs administered by UDRI.  Supervises and provides staff support for administering all functions of the Research Institute Accounting Office.  Also responsible for overseeing the security and integrity of financial data and for maintaining appropriate records and generating financial reports.

 

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:

Basic qualifications include a BS in Accounting, minimal of 12 years experience in accounting and finance and 10 years supervisory experience in accounting and finance.  Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills; knowledge of Microsoft Office with strong concentration in Excel.  Ability to apply creativity, resourcefulness, and sound judgment to effect solutions to difficult problems in accounting & finance and must have strong customer orientation and focus.

Preferred qualifications include experience with sponsored research accounting in a university environment, implementation of financial systems, with IT departments in areas such as report customization and validation of information, and with development of strong controllership environment.  Experience with internal/external audits, process improvements, productivity enhancements and quality models, and in developing and implementing long range strategic and operating plans.
