Don't miss the Electrical Engineering Social this Friday, April 17 from 5:30 onwards. Just show
up at the Casa Del Sol, 110 Lawnview Ave. for good times, good food, and plenty of activities to keep
you diverted for hours at a time. All ELE students and faculty are invited. See you there.
Eta Kappa Nu (HKN) is The National Honorary Society for Electrical Engineering.To become a member, a student must be an Electrical Engineering major andbe in the top fourth of the Junior class or in the top third of the Senior class.Students are notified of their eligibility and inductionsare held each semester.
The purpose of this organization, as stated in the preambleof the HKN Constitution is "to mark in an outstanding mannerthose who, as students in Electrical Engineering, have conferredhonor on their Alma Maters by distinguished scholarship,activities, leadership, and exemplary character."
Eta Kappa Nu members participate in industrial tours, tutoring, and social activities.

Meetings and Events for 1997/1998
Fall 1997
- First meeting of the year - Tuesday, September 23, KL 406
- Inductee Interviews - Wednesday, November 12 and Thursday, November 13, KL 403
- HKN Social - Sunday, November 23 at 110 Lawnview Ave. 5-8 p.m.
- Officers Meeting, Thursday, December 4, 6:45 at 110 Lawnview Ave.
- New member inductions - Sunday, December 7 from 12:30 to 1:30. McGuiness Center Meeting Room 1.
- Induction dinner - Sunday, December 7 at 4:00 in the McGuiness Center.
- Christmas on Campus - There are several times to help out over the weekend, December 5-9, show up when you can!
- They need help Friday from 12-5 unloading decorations. Meet at KU in Boll Theatre anytime to help.
- Show up in KU anytime Saturday and Sunday and they'll put you to work.
- They need help Monday night after Mass for cleanup. This will only take about a half an hour. Show up around 11 p.m. in the Frericks Center.
- Finally, Tuesday after COC, they need help with cleanup. Meet anytime during the day in KU Ballroom.
Spring 1998
- First meeting of the year: January 27. We passed out certificates from last semester, talked about
Engineer's week, and brought up the idea of another ELE social. Many old members and a few new inductees
attended. The pizza was GOOD.

- Sunday, February 22 - Saturday, February 28, 1998
Tons of ways to get involved, basketball, bowling, soccer, impromtu speech comp, everything. Any and all electricalengineers are encouraged to get involved. Official sign-ups are available in the Electro-Opticsoffice (KL 441). Turn in your forms to Dr. Duncan's mailbox. - Officer election meeting: Tuesday, March 10 at 7:15 in HM 202. We will also talk about ideas for
a huge social: ELE blowout event of the year!
- ELE Social: Friday, April 17 at 110 Lawnview Ave. Cookout, play ping pong, basketball, whatever! Party!!!
- Spring Inductions - Sunday, April 19 at 10:00 a.m. in the McGuiness Center, Meeting Room 1.
- Induction Brunch - Sunday, April 19 at 12:00 in Kennedy Union. Free for inductees and officers.
