  Greek 101

Greek 101 is a series of educational sessions that are held during the new member period. They are coordinated by the Interfraternity and Panhellenic Council new member educators and are required of all new fraternity and sorority members. Topics for Greek 101 are pertinent to any University of Dayton student and include sessions on hazing, alcohol/drug awareness, AIDS 101, male/female relationships, motivation, eating disorders/body image and homophobia. Attendance is taken at the end of each presentation.

  Hazing

The University strongly supports all city, state and national laws concerning hazing. Fraternities/Sororities that sponsor or participate in activities inconsistent with such laws will subject their chapter to an immediate review of their status as a recognized student organization. The State of Ohio revised code section 2903.31 defines hazing as "...any act or coercing of another...to do any act of initiation...that causes a substantial risk of causing mental or physical harm to any person" is considered hazing and will not be tolerated at the University of Dayton. Individuals involved in hazing incidents are subject to disciplinary action. All incidents of inappropriate behavior within the fraternity/sorority community should be reported immediately to Melissa Flanagan, Assistant Director of Student Involvement and Leadership. All information received is confidential.
