![]() This is the courtroom of Ohio Common Pleas Court Judge Jeffrey Welbaum. Judge Welbaum is a former prosecutor who has extensive experience working with grand juries. He is the judge who convened the grand jury that is featured on the preceding pages. That means he is the judge who selected the jurors and swore them in as county grand jurors. He will dismiss them when their term is over. He is also the judge who presides over this grand jury. That means he rules on any motions that are brought by witnesses who do not want to testify in front of the grand jury. He also rules on any other legal matters that may come up, such as someones claim that the grand jury was illegally convened or selected. |
