Can I get the names of the jurors who sat on a federal grand jury n 1948?

I am trying to locate a list of the jurors that sat on a Federal Grand Jury in 1948 from April through September. I would like to obtain their names and their party affiliation at the time of the jury. Can you provide me with the info on where I might obtain this? The jury was in Los Angeles, CA and I have contacted the LATimes for possible info but no luck. Thanks for your help.

Response:

I rather doubt you will be able to get them, since the names of federal grand jurors are considered to be encompassed by grand jury secrecy, and therefore cannot be disclosed except in accordance with the requirements of Rule 6(e) of the Federal Rules of Criminal Procedure.

You can, though, contact the clerk of the Los Angeles federal court (I assume it's a division of the Southern District of California) and ask to see if they still have the names and, if they do, if they will reveal them without a court order pursuant to Rule 6(e).
