INDOOR CYCLING 

Indoor cycling is a great way to enhance your fitness level by working on both strength and cardiovascular endurance.

Dates:              January 11 - April 21, 2010

Time:                                   7:05 - 7:50 a.m.

                                   Mondays and Wednesdays

Location:                   RecPlex Studio Room A

YOGA

This class will be designed to accommodate both beginner and experienced students. Yoga blends balance, strength, flexibility and power into a fitness format.  Meditation is integrated into the practice.  Yoga is user-friendly, and is doable by individuals at any level of fitness.  Benefits include reduced risk of injury and aids in the recovery of ailments such as stress, lower back pain and tension.  Bring a yoga mat and wear comfortable clothing.

BODY  SCULPTING

This class is a functional strength training/sculpting class which uses a pre-choreographed program using diversity in exercise, formats and equipment aimed towards the improvement of the participants' ability to perform activities of daily living.  The course emphasizes a progressive, goal-based routine that uses periodization to optimize results and client satisfaction.

CO-ED AEROBIC FITNESS

Work at your own pace in this popular Co-Ed Aerobics class that combines exercise with music for a great way to get and stay in shape.  This class includes a low impact aerobic workout and step aerobics with toning and stretching exercises for a complete workout.  If you’re an experienced exerciser or a novice, this class will meet your workout needs.  Just bring comfortable clothing and shoes and your desire to get fit!

Zumba/No Impact Aerobics

Dance Inspired cardio workout for all levels.

MUSCULAR STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING

Dates:            January 12 - April 22, 2010

Time:                                   7:00 - 8:00 a.m.

                                  Tuesdays and Thursdays

 PILATES

This Pilates mat class is designed to help increase flexibility and strengthen the body’s core muscles, while improving spinal and pelvic alignment.  Participants will learn the fundamentals of Pilates movement which will be modified to suit both beginners and those who are more advanced.  Please wear comfortable, non-restrictive clothing that will cover you in various positions, bring a bath-sized towel or “sticky” yoga mat to class, and a water bottle.

TAI CHI

 Tai Chi is a no impact form of physical movement- fun, interesting and challenging for members. Tai Chi is an exercise that strengthens and relaxes the body. Studies show that Tai Chi can reduce pain and stress. Evidence shows that balance training from performing Tai Chi can reduce fall risks. Class is geared for beginners to the Tai Chi form, but advanced practitioners are also welcome.

PERSONAL TRAINING

One - on - one fitness instruction.  Includes pre- and post- assessments. First 18 ONLINE registered participants will receive a trainer - you will be notified Friday, Jan 8th.

Dates:            To be determined by trainer/client - 2 days per week for 25 sessions total

Time:            To be determined by you and your trainer
