Because email is not a secure or confidential medium, we cannot guarantee that any email that you may send to us will remain confidential. While we consider your communications private and do not disseminate information about you without your permission, our university administration reserves the right to monitor email usage and therefore, confidentiality of email correspondence cannot be assumed. If you are concerned about the contents of your email being read by someone other than the counseling center staff, you might want to consider phoning or dropping by our office instead.
Restrictions to Email Correspondence
1. We do not conduct personal counseling through email or discuss personal issues through email messages. For these purposes, please call (937-229-3141) or visit our offices on the 1st floor of Gosiger Hall to make an appointment with a counselor.
2. EMAIL IS NOT APPROPRIATE AS A METHOD FOR CONTACTING US IN AN EMERGENCY. Your email may not be received immediately, so if time is of particular concern for you, or you have a mental health emergency, please phone the office instead or contact public safety at 937-229-2121.
