Counseling Center Workshops are scheduled 'as needed'.  If you have interest in a Counseling Center staff member to facilitate a workshop, please call to request at 937-229-3141

Here are some workshops we have done recently:


TEST ANXIETY

Sweaty Palms? Mind goes blank? But you studied and studied for this test?  This workshop is designed to help you take a look at what mental blocks you have built and learn how to ease beyond these blocks to more effective ways of controlling your testing situation.


STRATEGIES FOR COPING WITH A FRIEND’S EATING DISORDER

This presentation will focus on factors that contribute to healthy and unhealthy attitudes and behavior regarding body image and eating.  Come listen and discuss these issues whether they apply to you or someone you care about.


ASSERTIVENESS TRAINING

Come to this workshop to learn some strategies for expressing yourself clearly and directly to family, friends, and strangers. 


DECISION-MAKING WORKSHOP   (I DON'T KNOW...YOU DECIDE!)

This workshop will help you to become more aware of your desires.  Allow you to better construct your future.  We'll look at obstacles to DECISION-MAKING, as well as processes for becoming a good DECISION-MAKER.


STOP PROCRASTINATING

So you look to others for motivation?  Do you put off doing important tasks?  This program can help you learn ways to overcome procrastination and motivate yourself.


STRESS MANAGEMENT

Need to learn to relax? You will LEARN VARIOUS METHODS of dealing with stress, including imagery, muscle relaxation, and meditation. We will also discuss what causes stress and what it can do to you. 


YOUR PARENTS’ DIVORCE

Are your parents divorced or getting a divorce?  Although adult children of divorced parents may not think about it all the time, their lives have been subtly influenced by their parents’ divorce.  A divorce always affects children, even adult children, and almost always has some lingering effects.  This workshop will foster discussion and helpful information on coping with your parents’ divorce.
