TESTING SERVICES CAN PROVIDE:
|
The Personal Evaluation Program, (PEP) is designed to assist individuals with vocational, educational, career and personal planning. This program can include interest, temperament, aptitude, achievement and values testing, and will include an opportunity to discuss your test results with a staff member of The Counseling Center. Since each person requesting to take part in PEP brings a unique set of concerns and questions to the evaluation, the procedure is tailored to each individual's needs. A counselor, in consultation with you, chooses an assessment battery best suited to give the information you are seeking. The counselor will interpret your test results and discuss the implications of the results with you. You will receive a profile of your test scores.
PEP is designed to provide data and information which you can utilize as you further assess your plans, and serves as one step in a personal development process. PEP does not provide job placement services nor extended counseling. When calling to inquire about scheduling a PEP, tell the receptionist you would like to talk to a counselor, as they must speak with you before an appointment can be made. Normally, testing can be completed in one day. A second appointment is then scheduled for the interpretation. The basic cost of the evaluation is $175.00 and is to be paid on the day of testing.
Applicants to the University of Dayton may take the Residual ACT at Testing Services by appointment. ACT national test dates are predetermined by Educational Testing Services. However, students may take the Residual ACT at Testing Services on any weekday, (other than the national ACT dates) by appointment. The test is timed at four (4) hours. Score reports are sent only to the UD Office of Admission within about a week. The fee for taking the ACT is $31.00.
The Miller Analogies Test (MAT) is designed to measure scholastic aptitude at the graduate level. A candidate information booklet is available at the following website: www.milleranalogies.com. At UD, the MAT is offered by appointment on the first and last Mondays of the month at 4:30 p.m., and the middle Fridays of the month at 1:30 p.m., or once per week. The test consists of 120 analogies and is timed for 60 minutes. Please bring a photo ID (driver's license, military ID, or passport only - cannot accept a work ID), and get a free parking pass. The fee for the MAT is $70 (cash or personal check) and half is payable in advance (non-refundable) at the time of registration. The remainder of the fee is due on your testing day, payable at the Counseling Center reception desk. Please contact us regarding registration.

Special Testing AccommodationsTesting Services will extend every effort to accommodate special testing requests. Our services comply with the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973. Most national testing programs have generous provisions for requests of accommodations such as extra time, scribes and large print editions for individuals who can verify, through appropriate documentation, their disability. Test companies do not permit colleges to stock special test items, therefore, students are urged to allow sufficient time in making special testing requests. Contact Testing Services for additional information. University of Dayton students should call Student Learning Services at 229-3684 to arrange special accommodations for class exams. |
