The Counseling Center is a component of Student Development which provides the University of Dayton students with psychological, vocational, and educational support systems.
The major responsibility of The Counseling
Center is to assist each student in personal growth and development. Students
are in need of strong support services, both preventive and therapeutic.
Personal counseling, career development, and establishing academic goals
are viewed by the Center to be important in the transition process from
adolescence to young adulthood. The Center works closely in cooperation
with many academic areas, as well as other Student Development personnel,
in assisting the student's academic and personal decision-making processes.
In addition to working with the University
of Dayton community, limited services are extended to the greater Dayton community.
Professional consultation services are offered to groups and individuals
so as to assist them in the career/psychological assessments and evaluations.
We feel that as part of the greater Dayton community, we have this obligation
to allow the local community and its citizens to assess our services, when
mutually appropriate. Please call for more information
(937)229-3141.
The Counseling Center staff views each student as a unique individual, worthy of all considerations that may be extended to him/her in an effort to attain a sense of self-understanding, self-regard, and academic achievement. The highest degree of confidentiality is maintained so as to encourage the student to gain the necessary confidence and trust in our staff. The Counseling and instructional services are provided and maintained at the highest level possible within our means and resources.
