Hello alumni! Welcome to our new and improved website for our Zeta Psi chapter at the University of Dayton! Hopefully our new website will be an easier and more sufficient way of keeping all the alumni updated on what’s been going on with Alpha Phi. We have already done so many things and our calendar is filled all the way up to Christmas break with events and activities to do with our wonderful Alpha Phi sisters!
We started off the fall semester with an over-night sisterhood retreat at Camp Kern in which most of the chapter participated in! During this time, sisters bonded with each other when they were divided up into groups and had to overcome certain tasks and obstacles. This was an excellent chance for sisters to get to know each other better and extend a certain level of trust among each other.
Informal rush for us this semester was in September. We rushed a bunch of girls and on October 20th we held initiation and welcomed 15 new fabulous sisters into our sorority! We are continuing to do COB this semester so we can find even more great girls that we know would be beneficial and only the best to add to our chapter!
Some events we have already participated in and were successful have been Quarters for Cause and Greek Week. Quarters for Cause is an event in which we, along with the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity, went around our student neighborhood collecting any spare change each house had. This was a great way to raise money and also bond with a fraternity on campus! Greek Week was held during the week of September 24th to September 29th. Greek Week is a great opportunity to bond all the Greek life chapters together on campus. During each day of the week, an activity was held for all chapters and it ended on Saturday with the Greek Olympics. Points were tallied and the winners were announced after the Olympics. Alpha Phi came in first place for Greek Olympics!
The next event we have coming up is one of our biggest events on campus! The Mr. Alpha Phi pageant, which will be held on November 29th! We have established committees that are coming up with creative and fabulous ideas. This will be our first Mr. Alpha Phi pageant in a few years so we want to make sure that it’s the best it possibly can be!
Last but certainly not least, we want to make sure you SAVE THE DATE for our Red Dress Gala that will be taking place on February 29, 2008. The event will be held at the Dayton Masonic Center. More information will be provided in the near future concerning the time. We would absolutely love to have as many alumni at the event as possible! Please visit our website under the “Alumni” section for further updates.
We are looking forward to all the events that are coming up this semester for our fabulous chapter here at Dayton!
Your Sister,
Kendall Jesser, Director of Alumni Relations
