Mid-LIFE 2008
Mid-LIFE will be done with regional meetings this year. Dates and more
information will be available soon.
Community Focus
LIFE is focused on the Marianist tradition of formation of disciples through communities
of faith. Forming small Christian communities was how Marianist founder Blessed William
Chaminade helped bring Christianity to his world and it is how LIFE continues his work
today. LIFE is pretty unique in its community focus; not in just "community building" (fun), but in
building faith through the mechanism of community. In community, we share, we grow, and we support
one another on our faith journeys.
A Year-Round Ministry
While a central focus is the LIFE Summer Program, as mentioned above, LIFE is a year-round ministry
to, with and by high school students. The idea is to develop a core group of teen leaders
who help to determine meeting topics, and then plan and lead the meetings.
The LIFE Summer Program is not designed to be a leadership development experience, but many of the teens who attend the Summer Program are, or have the potential to be, leaders in their home LIFE communities. The LIFE Summer Program is meant to provide a starting point and an energy source for the following year of ministry in the home LIFE community.
