Diminished Ike rolls through Dayton
The student neighborhood wasn't spared the remnants of Hurricane Ike, which reportedly brought wind gusts around 70 mph to the Dayton area when it blew through on Sunday. The storm knocked out power for more than 200,000 area residents, including those in UD's student neighborhoods. Above, a downed tree limb in the back yard of the Sigma Chi house in the 400 block of Kiefaber. To accommodate students overnight, RecPlex invited students to bring pillows and blankets, offering both electricity and Internet access.
