Rosary Markings

  Year of the Rosary, October 2002 - October 2003

The following meditative wishes were forwarded by Dr. Deyanira Flores. They express the deeper meaning of what this Rosary Year is all about.

The Holy Father has dedicated this New Year 2003 to the Holy Rosary:

"The Rosary recited with the meditation of the mysteries brings about the following marvelous results: 1. it gradually brings us a perfect knowledge of Jesus Christ; it purifies our souls from sin; it gives us victory over all our enemies; it makes the practice of virtue easy; it sets us on fire with the love of our Lord; it enriches us with graces and merits; it supplies us with what is needed to pay all our debts to God and to our fellow-men, and finally, it obtains all kinds of graces from God.

The knowledge of Jesus Christ is the science of Christians and the science of salvation ... Blessed is the Rosary which gives us this science and knowledge of our Blessed Lord through the meditation of his life, death, passion and glory ..." (St. Louis M. De Montfort, Secret of the Rosary 81-82).

Rosary in hand, may we walk through this New Year 2003 growing in our love and union with Christ; imploring through the intercession of Our Lady and working very hard for peace in the world, in our families, and in our hearts!
