UNITED STATES

United States borders Canada, and Mexico, with the Atlantic Ocean on the east coast, and the Pacific Ocean on the west coast.  There are fifty states including Alaska and Hawaii.  The language in the United States of America is English, and Spanish is the second most spoken language.  The United States has one of the world's most varied populations in terms of ancestry.  The population includes descendents from every part of the world.  The first people to live in the United States were the American 'Indians'. Most Americans can trace their ancestry to Europe,  Latin  America, Africa, and Asia.  The United States began printing its stamps in 1846; stamps of Mary were not begun until 1966.
