Our Lady ‘Aparecida’ (Who Appeared)—An originally headless wooden statue found by some fishermen in a river. It was given a head and placed in the village church in 1719. It was later moved to a new church near Sao Paulo and in 1929 Our Lady Who Appeared was named the Patroness of Brazil. |
