Marianists in the United States work in parishes, juvenile courts, catechetical
and retreat centers. However, their principal apostolate is Catholic education,
both at the high school and university level.
The formation of a Marianist begins with an Aspirancy program before the
Novitiate. This period of preparation is followed immediately by Profession of
First Vows.
After college the young religious begins apostolic work, frequently as a high
school teacher. After three or more years of experience in the active
apostolate, Brothers who are preparing for the Priesthood study four years of
Theology.
Practically all Marianist Sisters, Brothers, and Priests take graduate studies.
All of these studies are financed by the Marianist Mission, Inc.
