Q: Where can I find movies that include Marian themes?

A: The Marian Library has a growing collection of films that are about the Blessed Virgin Mary or include her in some way in the context of the story.  One of the current research projects sponsored at the institute is to gather and analyze the Marian content of films since the beginning of the industry.  One may access the comprehensive database developed from this research on-line.

If looking for an evaluation of current films, the Catholic Communications Campaign has a Movie Review Line to help in decisions regarding current box office attractions.  Call 1-800-311-4222 to receive a brief description of popular movies.  Their list is updated weekly.  Each movie is evaluated for content, entertainment values and moral qualities.  The ratings by the Motion Pictures Association and the United States Catholic Conference are provided.  Special stress is on family audiences.
